Kristy Maney Herron
Kristy Herron is Cherokee and Diné of the One Walks Around and Many Goats clans. As an artist for over 20 years, Herron produces cutting-edge pictures using digital photography while working to honor the traditions of Cherokee culture. Her unique brand of natural, flash, macro, and experimental photography leads the contemporary arts scene in her community. She holds a B.F.A. in Photographic Imaging from the Art Institute of Atlanta but considers herself largely self-taught. She is inspired by the works of Annie Liebovitz, ManRay and Edward Curtis. Herron’s work can be found in private collections and commercial media across the Southeast.
