Tama D. Roberts

Tama Roberts is a Cherokee Nation artist who works primarily in ceramics and sculpture, photography and gourd pyrography. Each piece is original and a direct representation of her heritage using the interconnection and dependence of the four elements: fire, water, wind and the earth. Her hope is each piece is emblematic in the relatedness and respect that we carry forth for Mother Earth and all of her inhabitants. Her designs reflect contemporary characteristics that mirror the “art of today,” married with the past. She believes, “we must always know from where we came, the struggles of the past and the promise of the future in order to achieve greatness.” She has won multiple awards, been published and has many pieces in private collections and commercial spaces.
